Water electronic music carnival and 5D light show
On the evening of the opening ceremony, the 5D light product called the “Waterside Story” made its debut. This project took the ten miles of picturesque precipices along the Yuanshui River as the setting. The first domestic dual-precipice holographic projection show integrated the ancient legend of Pan Hu and Xin Nyv, the cultural legend of Qu Yuan’s crossing the river, the dance to celebrate the harvest with unique harvest characteristics of Xiangxi culture, the dance for sacrifice, Chenhe High-pitched Tune and other intangible cultural heritage elements, taking tourists to a dreamy night with the enthralling scenery by the Yuanshui River.
Under the starry night, the ten miles of picturesque precipices along the Yuanshui River shined brightly. Peng Zheng (a female Internet-famous singer) and several domestic popular bands including Yusheng Band, Haiou Band and Hupo Band gathered on the shore of the Yuanshui River to start a water electronic carnival with thousands of tourists. The music festival presented a perfect combination of technology and waters, lighting up the quiet shore of the Yuanshui River with enthusiastic music.
In addition to the premiere of 5D holographic water light show, there were such interactive activities among visitors as the paddling carnival.
Constantly upgraded night tour products and increasingly wonderful night in Luxi County
It is learned that this festival is the first cultural tourism festival in Xiangxi, featuring the water culture. During the festival, a number of new forms of performances and products were launched, including the natural bath electronic music festival, water acrobatic performance, 5D holographic water light show, food fairs, and intangible cultural heritage exhibition, in an effort to create an amazing experience integrating the night performances, entertainment, show and scenery.
In recent years, products highlighting the “night tour” have continued to emerge in Xiangxi’s tourism with natural scenery and customs unique to ethnic minorities as its main tone. The “Waterside Story” is the only night tour project focusing on Pan Hu culture, with the creative light show as the link and the water culture as the starting point.
Furthermore, tourists can admire the intangible cultural heritage exhibition of “Luxi Cultural Inheritance”, from the ancient legend of Pan Hu and Xin Nyv to Chenhe High-pitched Tune; from Tahu Paper Cutting to the chrysanthemum stone carving known as the “never withered chrysanthemum”. Luxi special food tasting impressed tourists with a feast consisting of dozens of special snacks. The water acrobatics performances enabled tourists not only to experience the splashing water carnival with thousands of people, but also to participate in interactive activities like the water polo battle and camping under the starry night. Tourists could therefore indulge in playing in the water at the end of the summer vacation.
Rejuvenating tourism with water
Boasting a wealth of talent and profound cultures like the farming culture and Pan Hu culture, Luxi County is the junction of Central Plains culture and Southwest culture. Qu Yuan, a patriotic poet of Chu State during the Warring States Period, wrote many famous poems when he was by the Yuanshui River. With a strong sense of homesickness, the literary master Shen Congwen wrote to explore the mystery of the ancient hanging coffin. Jin Yong, a master of martial art novels, depicted the romantic stories of “The Legend of the Condor Heroes”.
Over the past few years, Luxi County has highlighted the theme of “Yuanshui Pearl and Luxi in picturesque scenery”, adhered to the strategic goal of “building a waterfront leisure and tourism destination in Wuling Mountain”, optimized and strengthened the publicity of water culture, and cultivated the culture economy. The construction of Xiangxi Port opened up the inland river shipping lines and waterway, and has become an important shipping hub in Wuling Mountain.
